The Season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday—a sacred time in the church year when we prepare our hearts for Easter through prayer, reflection, and repentance. We invite you to join us for a meaningful worship service at 7:00 PM, held in the sanctuary and also available online for those who wish to participate from home.
As part of the service, we will offer the Imposition of Ashes—a tradition where ashes are gently placed on the forehead or hand in the shape of a cross. This ancient practice serves as a reminder of our humanity and our need for God’s grace, echoing the words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
JC, our Director of Children’s Ministry, will deliver a message to help guide us into this holy season.
Lent Together is a special seasonal event at Wesley designed to help individuals and families grow in discipleship during the sacred season of Lent. Through reflective and meditative practices, we journey together toward the cross, deepening our faith and drawing closer to Christ. Wesley values this time of spiritual renewal, offering meaningful opportunities to engage in personal devotion and shared experiences that nurture our walk with God.
First Sunday in Lent, join this intergenerational program at 11:15 AM in the Fellowship Hall to learn more about Lent and make take-home items for a more reflective and meditative personal and family Lent experience.
Join us on Friday for a quiet, reflective Good Friday service as we remember the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. This service, held in the sanctuary and available online, will follow the tradition of Tenebrae, a Latin word meaning “darkness” or “shadows.”
The Tenebrae service includes the gradual extinguishing of candles after each scripture reading, symbolizing the deepening sorrow and darkness of the crucifixion. Together, we will read passages from the Passion story, sing hymns, and observe moments of silence, creating space for prayer and contemplation.
This sacred time invites us to sit with the weight of Good Friday as we prepare our hearts for the hope of Easter. All are welcome.
Easter Sunday is a joyful celebration of Jesus’ resurrection and the hope it brings. At Wesley, we gather for vibrant worship, uplifting music, and meaningful community as we rejoice in God’s love and the promise of new life.
We’ll begin with brunch at 9 AM in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a family-friendly worship service with communion at 10 AM. At 11:15 AM, kids can enjoy crafts and activities in the Fellowship Hall, and the Easter Egg Hunt will start at 11:45 AM for children of all ages. If you’d like to help with brunch or the children’s programs, please let Pastor Jiyeon know!
Each Easter, Wesley offers the opportunity to dedicate tulips and lilies in honor or memory of loved ones through our Easter Flower Offering. These beautiful blooms decorate the sanctuary on Easter Sunday, celebrating the resurrection of Christ and bringing the joy of new life into our worship space. Flower dedications are a meaningful way to remember family and friends or to honor someone special. After the service, you are welcome to take your flower home or leave it to be shared with others in the community.
To place an order, please fill out the Easter Flower form. The last date of the Easter Flower request is Sunday, April 13. 2025
At Wesley, we have a longstanding tradition of directing 100% of our special offerings toward missional causes. This reflects our deep commitment to extending Christ’s love and hope beyond the walls of our church, supporting ministries that serve people in need both locally and globally.
This Easter, we invite you to give generously to our Easter Offering. Your contributions will go directly toward mission-driven efforts that bring healing, justice, and compassion to the world. As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, let us also share in the joy of giving and be a blessing to others through our faithful generosity.
This year, our Easter offerings will support Food for Others (1/3 as local mission), United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Flood Buckets (1/3 as national mission), and UMCOR Palestinian refugees (1/3 as international mission).
