Pastor Jiyeon will lead Lenten Bible Study, a 5-week study with the practice of Lectio Divina (sacred reading) and discussion, along with our Lenten Sermon Series, "Listening at the Foot of the Cross," focusing on Jesus' seven last words. It will be in-person on Tuesdays at 10 am in the library on the following dates:
February 24,
March 3, 17, 24, 31.
Please note that we don't meet on March 10, and there will be no virtual gathering this time. To join the group, simply email Pastor Jiyeon at jkim@wesleyvienna.org or use the sign-sheet when it's available.
United Women in Faith (Wednesday morning/Thursday evening monthly) – Circles meet for inspirational programs about missions, women, children, and youth.
The Morning Circle meets monthly on the first Wednesday at 10:30 am in-person in the Church Library.
The Evening Circle meeting is scheduled monthly on the first Thursday at 7:30 pm via ZOOM. If you have questions, please contact to office@wesleyvienna.org
Everyone is welcome to join the Wesley United Women in Faith Book Club. It's not just for women! The books come from the UWF Reading Program and cover topics like mission, leadership, community, social action, and spiritual growth. There are books for all ages, and many are available through the Fairfax County Public Library. Feel free to invite friends!
If you have questions, please contact to office@wesleyvienna.org
Common Grounds meets after the Sunday service. You can join in person in the library or via Zoom. Participants sign on and gather at 11:05 (or whenever you can make it). There’s 15 minutes of conversation before the discussion begins at 11:20, and we end promptly at noon. Just drop in and join the discussion!
We started to discuss on, "Why Did Jesus Have to die?" by Adam Hmilton.
The class is taking Sunday 3/8 off to support the Rise Against Hunger work in the Fellowship Hall.
There is no requirement to read the book to participate in the discussion.
Methodist Men Morning Devotion (M3D) meets on Thursday mornings in the church library to discuss Faith and Family and explore Biblical wisdom in a small group setting. The men of Wesley are invited to check out the group and plan to attend as often as they can. This is an option for some who may not be able to join the Men's breakfast that meets a little later on Thursday mornings.
Wesley UMC’s Men meet to enjoy a low-key breakfast every Thursday Morning at 7:30 am at the Merrifield Silver Diner. While this breakfast is “billed” as a Men’s breakfast, all are welcomed to join in. We meet for about an hour, or as long as our “hot air” can last! This has been a Thursday morning staple for more than 25 years (although we have moved around to different area restaurants over time)!
The idea was originally thought of by one of our former ministers, Jim Ward, who thought it would be a good idea to have a low-key, out-of-church, experience to discuss church and other items in our lives without ministerial guidance. Today, we enjoy discussing with everyone about ongoing subjects in our lives – Wesley, family, medical issues, sports, mostly wherever our discussion takes us, (although we do strive to avoid political discussions). Our typical attendance is between 4 and 9 people, but we’re always glad to add another table or two! Come out and join us! Even if you don’t want a full breakfast, feel free to stop by and have some coffee or tea!
